Matthias Paul (Eisenhüttenstadt, Brandenburg, December 16, 1971), better known by his stage name Paul van Dyk, is a world-renowned German trance music DJ and producer. In 2010 he was considered the sixth best DJ in the world by TheDjList, as well as the fifth best DJ in the world according to DJmag voting, which awarded him first place in 2005 and 2006. He is currently ranked 38th according to the DJmag magazine.
